Pumpkins Prefer Unarmed Citizens

Well, a bunch of us from Michigan Open Carry went out to the Pit in Lapeer for some shooting fun on Saturday.  Needless to say it was a great outing.  One of the members was nice enough to bring a van full of pumpkins.  That made for some fun shooting.  Here are some pictures from the event:

After we were done shooting, a few of us headed to William’s in Davison, and then to the new Meijer to check it out.  Of course we open carried.

We didn’t have any problems at all.  A younger gentleman asked us if we were police officers, or just open carrying.  He said he’s been to OpenCarry.org, and just hasn’t open carried yet.  Another man was looking at us way more than your average Meijer shopper.  We later saw him walk past us with a manager, and then quickly walk away from the manager and give me a really dirty look and say “that’s bull@#$%!”  Well, we ended up in line behind him when he asked if we had airsoft guns.  Airsoft?  What good would an airsoft gun do me?  He was a bit upset, but was very polite while we were in line.

It was obvious that this guy wasn’t happy about what we were doing, but we were very polite and gave him as much information as he would take.  He claimed to be a CPL holder, which makes me very sad.  It’s very unfortunate that our so called brothers, fellow gun owners, don’t understand the difference between privileges and rights.  They don’t understand how immensely important it is to use the rights we DO have, or face losing them all together.
