Michigan Open Carry - Lapeer, MI

Well, Christy and I went to another picnic with the Michigan Open Carry group, this time in Lapeer. Most everyone is from OCDO (opencarry.org). The best thing about the picnic? Not much happened, just like I like it. We played some horseshoes, threw a football around, and grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. The only issue of the day was a misunderstanding about the pavilion we were in at first. Apparently it was reserved by a church group, but we had no way of knowing. The group was very cool about the situation, and one of them even admitted to being a CPL holder :

After the picnic some of us headed over to the pit to warm some barrels. That place is a lot of fun. There’s a bunch of.. well… trash to shoot at, like an orange construction barrel and an old TVs. I’ll definitely be back there.

I’ve been open carrying a lot more lately, and I love it. It’s very liberating, and very refreshing to exercise my rights, but most importantly, be able to protect myself and my family. Anybody who doesn’t carry the most effective self-defense tool is crazy, in my opinion. I carry all the time, and I see exactly what DOESN’T happen, even though, according to anti-gun people, I’ll be arrested, shot, and my gun stolen if I’m ever stupid enough to open carry.
