America needs change and Americans voted for change last week. I’m afraid the change we’re going to get isn’t the change we need, but that remains to be seen.
Luckily, President-Elect Barack Obama has a plan…I think. Obama’s Transistion Team put up this website to let the public in on his foolproof plan. (more…)
Well, a bunch of us from Michigan Open Carry went out to the Pit in Lapeer for some shooting fun on Saturday. Needless to say it was a great outing. One of the members was nice enough to bring a van full of pumpkins. That made for some fun shooting. Here are some pictures from the event: (more…)

Coloseum Software Corporation has developed software that will help dealers record all of the information that is unconstitutionally required by the federal government — and to keep that information in a way that insulates them from bogus prosecutions at the hands of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (aka The Gang).
The document that is most often involved in “gotcha” injustices is the Form 4473 which all customers must fill out when buying from a licensed federal firearms dealer — a requirement that is yet another unconstitutional imposition by the feds. (more…)
This is pretty much just a copy and paste from my post on the OpenCarry.org Michigan forum.
I don’t know how many of you have been to Fire mountain, but it’s a pretty good buffet. You pay right when you come in the door. So, I came in, paid, and found a table. The place was pretty busy and I noticed a woman on the other side of the restaurant staring at me as I took off my coat. I also noticed her staring at me most of the time while I was eating. Since it was a buffet, I was up walking around a lot, and got a lot of looks. I overheard the people at the table next to us “arguing” about whether OC was legal or not.
About halfway through our meal I noticed a management looking man stop our server and talk to her. The only thing I could hear was her saying “That’s my table” while pointing at us. Since another server joined the conversation, I assumed it was a discussion about how the tables were assigned. Just a few minutes later a female manager came to the table and said “I have to ask you a question.” Assuming she was going to ask something about the server, I didn’t think much of it. (more…)
Well, Christy and I went to another picnic with the Michigan Open Carry group, this time in Lapeer. Most everyone is from OCDO (opencarry.org). The best thing about the picnic? Not much happened, just like I like it. We played some horseshoes, threw a football around, and grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. The only issue of the day was a misunderstanding about the pavilion we were in at first. Apparently it was reserved by a church group, but we had no way of knowing. The group was very cool about the situation, and one of them even admitted to being a CPL holder : (more…)
“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
The Supreme Court’s 5-4 ruling in District of Columbia v. Heller is a huge step in the right direction. On the surface, this ruling struck down the DC ban on handguns and self-defense in the home. The court had not conclusively interpreted the Second Amendment since its ratification in 1791. Today it ruled that the Second Amendment assures the right of an individual to keep and bear arms. An editorial, published yesterday in the Flint Journal, in response to this article, seems to be out of touch with reality. In a city third on the list for violent crime, you would think people in Flint would understand the desire law abiding citizens have for carrying guns. This does not seem to be the case for the Journal.
The author actually suggests that those who carry guns “should feel some sensitivity for other park users who do not share their enthusiasm for handguns.” Those who do not agree are just as obligated, if not moreso, to respect the right of gun owners to carry a handgun. If the author feels this way, then he must have the same feelings for other topics. This is no different than somebody seeing a gay couple holding hands or kissing and being offended. Should the gay couple feel sensitivity for those who disagree? It’s idiotic to think so.
Today I attended my first get-together with the guys from OpenCarry.org. After some issues with our original plans, we met at Kelly Park in Burton. By the end, about 15 or so members showed up with their guns on their hips. The park wasn’t too busy, but there were some families fishing, and a few people even stopped to get some information.
The Flint Journal has already posted an article about the meeting. She may have worded some things differently than I would, but any publicity is good publicity… right? Here’s the article:
I’ve been meaning to post this since Thursday night, but I’ve been extremely busy with, well, everything else.
My buddy and I went out to the club to shoot pistols like we usually do every week. Everything was going fine. We had finished all of our tactical drills (drawing, reloading, low light, etc…), and were just wrapping up with the last few mags of ammo when something very weird happened. (more…)
